With legislation stalled, feds seek cooperation with business sector on cybersecurity

Despite mounting threats from state-sponsored hackers and terrorist groups, Congress is unlikely to act on cybersecurity before the end of the year, observers say, noting that the National Security Agency spying scandal has made corporate cooperation less certain. Meanwhile, government officials are extending an olive branch to the private sector in an effort to reignite talks about information sharing and reassure companies that U.S. intelligence is working with them, not against them.
