Nepalese workers hired to build Qatar's $45 billion Lusail development in preparation for the 2022 FIFA World Cup are enduring difficult and unsafe working conditions, with 44 deaths already reported between June 4 and August 8, according to several reports. FIFA's world governing body has expressed concerns about the allegations of unhealthy, overcrowded labor camps, wages not being paid and unsafe workplace conditions and is conducting an investigation into the situation.
