South Fla. companies upgrade eating spaces to please workers

South Florida companies are taking a cue from Hertz, which is putting its employee cafeteria on the third floor of its new headquarters, an upgrade from its current bottom-floor location, to provide great views that complement its menu. Gartner sales vice president Nate Swan said investing in comfortable eating spaces keeps employees happy and helps maintain productivity. At Chico's headquarters in Fort Myers, its Melting Pot Café offers burgers and pizzas, while the Viva Verna Café next to its fitness center has more health-conscious offerings.
