To find the right clients, be willing to give up opportunities to work with those whose purpose and goals don't align with what you're able to provide, writes Sara Rotman, founder of branding agency MODCo Creative. Also, shift the way you think about your customers. "I consider them partners with whom we are going to be in bed for a long time, people with whom we need to forge a positive working relationship and individuals with whom we can share time, opinions and healthy disagreements, all while working toward a common goal," Rotman writes.
