Bigelow module project integrates U.S., European technologies

Bigelow Aerospace is using U.S. and European technology to develop inflatable Earth-orbit space modules. Inflatable modules offer large volume, but cost less to launch because they are relatively lightweight. Bigelow will announce a $50 million contest for the development of a low-cost commercial manned orbital vehicle capable of launching five to seven astronauts at a time to Bigelow inflatable modules.
