Designer brings modernist French flair to Boston condos

Attracted by what he calls Boston's "elegance of intelligence," modernist French designer Philippe Starck is joining a partner in developing two condo projects -- one, a conversion of a South End police station and the other a Charlestown Navy Yard apartment complex. Starck says he will limit his designs to common places, such as atriums, health clubs, pools and gardens.
