Digital ink eyed for outdoor advertising

Digital ink, the futuristic dream of material that changes color and texture at the press of a button -- allowing you, for example, to match your shoes to your wallpaper -- may be coming soon to a billboard near you. Digital ink signs are already appearing in Japan, and rollouts are planned for U.S. cities.
