Census data: Fewer U.S. elderly living in nursing homes

New Census data shows 7.4% of people aged 75 and older were living in facilities in 2006, compared with 8.1% in 2000 and 10.2% in 1990. Experts say the trend is a positive one, because increased use of assisted living and community-based options can reduce costs.
