Study links antibody to kidney-transplant rejections

A U.S. study revealed that anti-MICA antibodies, which were spotted in 11.4% of 1,910 patients, were linked to kidney transplant rejections and lower survival rate of organ recipients compared with those patients without the antibodies. Researchers hope to include the antibody screening in the current screening tests to monitor patients for an increased risk of rejection.
