More college dorms aim for green ratings

Colleges across the U.S. have started to take steps to make their buildings greener. More than 600 schools have signed a pledge to become carbon-neutral, and 90 dormitories are LEED certified. The EcoDorm at Warren Wilson College in North Carolina, for example, uses 2/3 less electricity than a similarly-sized conventional building. It is one of two dorms in the U.S. that have achieved a LEED platinum rating.
