Colorado program focuses on teenage English learners

The Newcomers Program in Greeley, Colo., offers help to 14- to 18-year-old immigrants who don't speak English. The program, which is paid for with Title I funds, began last year and teaches students literacy skills so they can advance in the workplace or further their education. The current class has 27 students who speak seven different languages.
