Duluth hotel builds sustainability into everyday life

Cara Overland, administrative director at the Inn on Lake Superior in Duluth, Minn., spent a year in a business and environmental-sustainability program. Overland and the staff at the Inn on Lake Superior are now building sustainability into their daily business lives. The hotel has expanded its recycling program, cut use of electricity and water and made other changes. "We couldn't do a lot of these things if they didn't offer a payback. But they all do," Overland said.
