ExxonMobil to kick off production at new field off Russia's coast

The ExxonMobil-led Sakhalin-1 consortium this week will commence commercial output at the Odoptu field off Russia's coast. The company expects within one year for the field to reach peak daily production of about 32,000 barrels. The Sakhalin-1 group, which comprises Russia's Rosneft, Japanese group Sodeco and India's ONGC, also intends to explore 10 wells at Odoptu by next year.
