Researchers develop tool to predict risk of dying from stroke

Canadian researchers said they have developed a tool that could predict patient stroke outcomes using factors such as sex, age, co-existing conditions and time of hospital admission. Called the Get With The Guidelines-Stroke, the Internet-based tool also could help hospitals compare their expected and actual mortality rates, which could be used to improve the quality of care, the study author said.
