Employers' health-plan premiums are up 9% this year

The average family premium for an employer-sponsored health care plan is up 9% this year, to more than $15,000, according to a survey of businesses by the Kaiser Family Foundation. It's unclear whether premiums will continue to rise after several years of moderate increases. Some companies say they expect their premiums to increase more slowly because of employee wellness programs and other factors.
