Teachers in Ga. begin preparing for the common core

In response to criticism that teachers in Georgia were not prepared for the adoption of new state standards and an integrated math curriculum several years ago, officials say they already are preparing to help teachers transition to the new Common Core State Standards expected to be in place as soon as next year. Districts say they are taking varied approaches to training teachers, including in Cobb County, where officials plan to set up model classrooms for training sessions.
