7 groups tapped to aid nursing facilities in HIT program

The CMS has tapped seven groups to offer on-site services and technical assistance to 145 nursing facilities in seven states that are participating in a new hospitalization reduction program. The Initiative to Reduce Avoidable Hospitalizations among Nursing Facility Residents aims to evaluate new health IT models to boost care quality and cut hospitalizations among Medicare and Medicaid beneficiaries.
