Better HbA1C seen in diabetes patients on bile-acid sequestrants

A review presented at the European Association for the Study of Diabetes meeting revealed type 2 diabetes patients who used bile-acid sequestrants attained greater reductions in HbA1C than those in the placebo group. Bile-acid sequestrants also helped decrease levels of bad cholesterol and did not result in weight gain among patients, researchers noted.
