Cable's new nets try to stand out on crowded dial

Six new high-profile cable networks have launched in the past three months -- FXX, Nuvo, Pivot, Al Jazeera America, Fox Sports 1 and Esquire Network. Distribution ranges from 33 million households for Nuvo to Fox Sports 1's 90 million households, according to this infographic. To flourish, the channels will "have to come at it in a nontraditional way or you'll be gone very quickly," according to Steve Bellamy, who is launching a channel called Surf Network.
