Colo. district grows its local food program

The lunch menu in Jeffco Public Schools in Jefferson County, Colo., will include more locally raised, antibiotic-free chicken, thanks to the district's work with a local natural meat producer. The district also serves various locally grown vegetables. Gail Hansen, a public-health veterinarian with the Pew Charitable Trusts and a partner in the local effort, calls the district a model for others.
