A Chinese man whose nose was damaged in a car accident is growing a new nose on his forehead, a variation on common plastic surgery techniques. Doctors placed tissue expanders under his forehead, creating a rough nose shape, then added rib cartilage as a frame. Once the new nose is ready, surgeons will reposition it to replace the damaged nose. "I would call it a different take on a principles that we commonly use in reconstruction," said U.S. plastic surgeon Dr. David Cangello of the Chinese doctor's technique.
