Inflation in Japan speeds up to highest rate since 2008

In August, Japan's rate of inflation posted its biggest jump since 2008. The statistics bureau said consumer prices excluding fresh food rose 0.8% compared with August 2012. The yen's 20% decline against the U.S. dollar this year through August has boosted fuel costs.
