Overeating may be linked to brain circuits, study suggests

Research published in the journal Science suggests that binge eating and overeating may be biological, and it focused on the brain's hypothalamus. A study done in mice turned on and off cells linked to the lateral hypothalamus; researchers found that when cells were in the "on" position, mice ate voraciously and favored high-fat, high-calorie foods.
