World War I is gaining increased attention in popular culture and is poised to take the travel spotlight next year during the centennial anniversary of the start of the war. Several travel firms are looking to capitalize on the expected growth in demand through commemorative promotions, such as Virgin Vacations' Downton Abbey tour and a World War One Commemorative Cruise by European Waterways.
