Will Google and eBay bring umbrellas when your shirt says it's raining?

Google took its same-day delivery service out of testing mode and opened it to everyone in San Francisco and the Silicon Valley on Wednesday. On the same day, eBay Enterprise Marketing Solutions Head of Strategy John Sheldon shared his belief in a future where eBay has enough data to know what you need and deliver it without you having to order it, from a new bike helmet after a crash to an umbrella when a sensor in your shirt tells an application on your smartphone it's raining. "The ability to both sense a need and fulfill on that need in that compressed a time frame is very, very powerful," he said.
