New England Milk-Pricing System To Expire Sept. 30

The Northeast Dairy Compact, a milk-pricing system allowing a commission to set the prices processors must pay dairy farmers in New England, will expire Sept. 30. Farmers in major dairy states, including Wisconsin and Minnesota, oppose the compact, saying it could lead to overproduction and, as a result, depress milk prices.
