Schooling takes an unusual twist in storm-battered Florida

Thanks to a partnership between the Pensacola News Journal and the Escambia County School District, Florida Panhandle students whose classes have been canceled will be mailed eight lesson plans themed around Hurricane Ivan and the curriculum. Escambia School Superintendent Jim Paul predicts the Ivan Institute of Learning may become "the standard for continuing the learning process" when disasters ravage the state.
