Voters should press candidates and incumbents for solutions to the insurance crisis, the Miami Herald editorial board writes. Policyholders in Florida and in Gulf and Atlantic states are facing insurance costs that are up to 10 times higher than they were last year. Lawmakers should create a catastrophe fund that would help cover disasters, or coastal states should create their own fund and spread the risk among themselves, the board writes.
