British Airways splits order between Boeing, Airbus

British Airways will spend $8.2 billion to update its fleet, purchasing 12 Airbus A380s and 24 Boeing 787 Dreamliners and place options for a further seven A380s and 18 787s. The Airbus order is a breakthrough for the European manufacturer, as British Airways has never before operated that company's long-haul aircraft.
