Fragmentation of Asia-Pacific hotel market called a challenge

While the tourism and hospitality business booms in the Asia-Pacific region, the industry is getting more complicated, and fragmentation is a key challenge in the region, according to Amadeus. Whereas 80% of rooms booked in North America are in chains, only 20% of rooms booked in Asia Pacific belong to a hotel chain, and that can create a "hospitality management nightmare" for single properties, an official with Amadeus Asia Pacific said.
