Researchers predict sudden cardiac death using SPECT MPI

A U.S. study showed that SPECT myocardial perfusion imaging can be used to identify patients who are at high risk of sudden cardiac death. The study also found that impaired myocardial perfusion can provide more effective incremental prognosis data compared to solitary left ventricular ejection fraction determination in patients with ischemic heart disease.
