FAA approves private company to design RNP procedures

After more than two years of collaboration, the FAA has certified a private company to help design Required Navigation Performance flight paths for U.S. airspace. Naverus already has designed some 300 optimized RNP flight paths around the world and is currently rolling out a national RNP network for Australia. "With this Letter of Qualification, Naverus can begin to apply what we've learned in other parts of the world to help accelerate NextGen in the U.S.," said CEO Steve Forte. "We look forward to working with FAA and operators to implement RNP procedures in the U.S. that reduce aircraft fuel burn, CO2 emissions and noise."
