AOL tries to reinvent online ad unit with new format

AOL unveiled a new ad unit that represents a "fundamental redesign of the Web," according to Jeff Levick, AOL's president of global advertising and strategy. The unit, dubbed Project Devil, is a single interactive ad that serves to anchor individual content pages. Seven top brands, including General Mills' Cheerios and Pillsbury, Lexus and Sprint are among the initial clients for the format.
