Developers eye Android in the long run

A large majority of developers expect Android to overtake Apple in the market for mobile applications, according to a report from IDC and Appcelerator. The survey of more than 2,000 developers found that about 60% said Android has a better long-term outlook than Apple's iOS. Meanwhile, 85% of respondents said Android offers the development platform that is the most open, while 6% said so about Apple.
