EPA fines Petspace over improper sale of canine flea-and-tick product

The Environmental Protection Agency on Monday said that Petspace, a pet-supplies retailer in Olathe, Kan., will pay a $3,400 fine to settle allegations that it sold an unregistered flea-and-tick pesticide for dogs. EPA officials say selling unregistered or misbranded pesticide products could pose serious threats to animal and human health.
