Gel, liquid ban will end in 2 years, official says

The ban preventing travelers from bringing creams, gels and liquids on commercial airlines will end within two years as equipment capable of detecting explosives in liquid is added to airport-screening stations, according to the International Civil Aviation Organization. Until that equipment is installed, airports will use full-body scanners to detect explosives in liquid, ICAO Secretary General Raymond Benjamin said. The scanners have raised privacy concerns and are opposed by some nations.
