JPMorgan might seek FDIC legal protection for WaMu claims

JPMorgan Chase has notified the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. that it might seek legal protection from the receivership that liquidated Washington Mutual at the height of the financial crisis, sources said. Kevin Starke, a CRT Capital Group analyst, said JPMorgan and the FDIC signed an agreement in 2008 that allows for claims to be made against the receivership.
