Michigan expands quality improvement pilot to all hospitals

Michigan will expand its pilot project to improve quality of care and reduce readmissions to all 144 hospitals in the state. The four-year State Action on Avoidable Rehospitalizations, or MISTAAR, project is trying to reduce avoidable admissions by 30%, which would save millions of dollars in health care costs and improve patient safety.
