New schools offer builders stability in shaky market

With the commercial construction market still anemic, builders have gotten a boost from education projects. Schools and other education construction accounted for $4.4 billion of the $27 billion in New York City construction activity last year. The city's need for new schools has contributed to the addition of about 3,000 construction jobs this year alone.
