CMS seeks participants in multipayer project to better coordinate care

The CMS released a notice calling on insurers to take part in the Comprehensive Primary Care Initiative, a multipayer effort that allows primary care providers to receive a monthly payment for comprehensive services offered to each Medicare fee-for-service enrollee. The four-year pilot aims to test whether aligning payer and provider services, along with health IT use and payment reform, can lead to improved care at lower costs.
