Debt panel could consider "dual-eligibles" for spending cuts

The congressional committee assigned to find ways to reduce the nation's debt could look into how to decrease spending on people who qualify for both Medicare and Medicaid, an "obvious area" to explore, said CIGNA's William Hoagland. States and insurance industry officials want to require "dual-eligibles" to use less-expensive managed care.
