Emotions run high on both sides of debate over Pittsburgh signs

The City Council in Pittsburgh heard from more than 70 residents on both sides of a proposed ordinance dealing with the size and placement of electronic billboards. Fans of the measure, which has not been scheduled for a vote, say such signs give businesses an economic boost, while opponents who favor an outright ban on new signs say digital billboards hurt property values.
