Review: Colon, rectal cancer risk is higher with diabetes

An analysis of 14 international studies found that patients with diabetes were at a 38% greater risk of developing colon cancer compared with those without the disease. Researchers said diabetes was also associated with a 20% increased risk of rectal cancer in men. The results were reported in the American Journal of Gastroenterology.
