Rosie the Robot wants to load your dishwasher

Researchers say they're nearing the holy grail of robotics: an android housekeeper capable of performing household chores without tiring, complaining or expecting a Christmas bonus. Prototype robots can already load dishwashers, fold towels, bake cookies and fetch cold beers on demand. "We're not yet there, but I think that in less than a decade the technology will exist to have a useful household robot," says Stanford researcher Andrew Ng.
