California grocery chains, union members prepare for possible strike

In Southern California, 71,000 grocery store employees in the United Food and Commercial Workers union may stage the region's first supermarket strike in 25 years. The strike would be in response to Safeway, Kroger and Albertson's cost-cutting measures, which the chains say is in response to rising health care costs and competition from Wal-Mart.
