Brazil is the source of some of the best advertising creative available today, according to a group of foreign-born senior creative executives speaking at Advertising Week. Mark Wnek, chairman & COO of Lowe & Partners Worldwide, described the work from Latin America as "fresh" and "fascinating," and cited a lack of "regulation" as one advantage for creatives working in those countries. Wnek -- who is from England -- joked, though, that creatives from Brazil are "even more un-PC than Brits."
Cindy Gallop, former chairman of Bartle Bogle Hegarty, New York, posited that strong creative is coming from countries like Brazil and the U.K. because the population is engaged in advertising. That connection "encourages an environment where people are more willing to take risks," she said.
