JPMorgan Chase tops dwindling financial ad spenders

The recent purchase of Washington Mutual by JPMorgan Chase makes the bank -- at least in terms of simple addition -- the biggest-spending financial marketer, with a combined marketing budget of $1.51 billion. Chase is expected to eliminate the WaMu brand, which used ad shop TBWA/Chiat/Day, Playa del Ray, Calif. Chase uses mcgarrybowen for the bulk of its creative and ZenithOptimedia for planning and buying.
