Leap reaches roaming deal with MetroPCS

It's not a merger, but Leap Wireless and MetroPCS have allied in an agreement that unites a pair of regional carriers that target lower-income and young customers with plans that don't require contracts. Their new roaming alliance involves swapping spectrum and settling litigation so that their combined 8 million subscribers will pay no or lower roaming fees when calling from each company's coverage area.
