Los Angeles could build California's first vertical mall

Developers in Los Angeles plan to build the first vertical mall in California on Wilshire Boulevard. The seven-story mall would house up to 100 stores and restaurants, and would open in 2011. Vertical malls are popular in Asia and Europe, but have not caught on yet in the U.S. due to the abundance of land.
