N.C. district begins suspending children without vaccines

Some of the 1,200 middle-school students and 1,350 elementary students in North Carolina's Charlotte-Mecklenburg schools who have not provided proof of receiving vaccine boosters have been suspended under a new state law. The state has recently seen an increase in whooping cough cases, said N.C. Department of Health and Human Services Spokeswoman Amy Caruso.
